After the collapse of a similar structure on the same highway, an output-only modal identification test was commissioned to S2X in order to accurately assess the dynamic behavior of steel structures for highway signals. The analysis of the ambient vibration response of the structure allowed the identification of 7 structural modes. Well-established Operational Modal Analysis methods, implemented in proprietary software, were applied for modal identification.
